From single- to multi-modal remote sensing imagery interpretation: a survey and taxonomy

Modality is a source or form of information. Through various modal information, humans can perceive the world from multiple perspectives. Simultaneously, observation remote sensing (RS) multimodal. We observe macroscopically through panchromatic, Lidar, and other sensors. Multimodal has become an active area, which beneficial for urban planning, monitoring, applications. Despite numerous advancements in this there still not been comprehensive assessment that provides systematic overview with unified evaluation. Accordingly, survey paper, we first highlight key differences between single- multimodal RS imagery interpretation, then use these to guide our research interpretation cascaded structure. Finally, some potential future directions are explored outlined. hope will serve as starting point researchers review state-of-the-art developments work on research.
